Masterflex Group: In time, within budget & desired quality zum ERP-standard – Best Practice in implementation

BE-terna won the race with Microsoft Dynamics 365 and its additional features. Clearly defined goals, excellent project organisation on the customer side and smooth cooperation characterised the implementation. A best practice example for future near-standard ERP-projects.

Fewer special solutions, implementation as standard

A particularly decisive factor in the decision to implement the Dynamics 365-solution was an implementation close to the Microsoft standard and the desire to reduce individual programming. Thomas Kämpf, Head of Group Controlling and M&A at Masterflex, and project manager for the ERP-implementation, comments on this:

We didn't quite manage to do it entirely without additional programming, but we were still able to achieve our goal. In particular, the new programming approach via extensions should mitigate the usual problems with adaptations.

With Microsoft Dynamics 365 from BE-terna, a homogeneous system landscape in the cloud has been available to the group since January 2019.  With implementation close to the Microsoft standard, it meant that individual programming was largely dispensed with, master data was corrected or streamlined, and existing processes were streamlined and optimised. Thanks to the consistent mapping of all existing business processes in one system, the previous "paperwork" could also be reduced. As planned and within the set budget, the go-live took place at the main location in Gelsenkirchen after only 12 months. The roll-out to the other globally active subsidiaries is now to follow.
