MORE & MORE: Innovative growth with Microsoft Dynamics 365 and BE-terna Fashion

More & More GmbH (MORE & MORE) is an established textile manufacturer of women’s wear, specializing in the Modern Woman segment with the MORE & MORE brand. The company, which was first founded in Munich in 1982, is based in Schorn near Starnberg. While the company currently operates 60 stores across Germany, wholesale is international, with a focus on the DACH region and BENELUX. MORE & MORE also relies on strong e-commerce. 

In 2019 MORE & MORE decided to introduce Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central and the BE-terna industry solution for the fashion industry to replace a large number of previously existing isolated solutions. The main goal with this was to create a solid IT foundation for future growth and entrepreneurial development. For this reason, MORE & MORE switched its in-house systems to Azure Cloud infrastructure, which is more scalable.

Remote work leads to project success

The project was launched at the end of 2019, followed by the roll-out phase in September 2020. While the project work with MORE & MORE was carried out alongside day-to-day business, BE-terna had a relatively small team that worked almost exclusively on a remote basis. 

Not only for carrying out the necessary tests and training, but also for cross-team communication, various online channels as well as video conferences were utilized for this. The joint project work was also carried out in Azure DevOps. 

With the wholesale go-live in May 2021 and the retail go-live in September of the same year, the project went according to plan, was on time and on budget. The short implementation time of only three months for the new BE-POS checkout solution was particularly remarkable. The retail processes could also be adapted in just four months.

Basis for growth and further development

Right from the start, the decision was made in favor of a standard-based approach, i.e. process orientation in line with the BE-terna Fashion standard: The customer processes were rethought and then realized using the BE-terna Fashion standard. These implementations, which were based on the standard, required only minimal adjustments. 

In addition to the ERP system, the flexible BI and reporting solution BE-Analytics was also introduced. Furthermore, BE-POS, a scalable and extremely user-friendly checkout solution, was implemented in the stores, which is fully integrated into Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central as well as BE-terna Fashion. 

This approach means MORE & MORE now has a fully integrated system in place that covers almost all business processes – from accounting, procurement and warehouse logistics to wholesale, retail and reporting.

Good cooperation between the teams is everything

The close cooperation between the BE-terna and MORE & MORE teams proved to be a key factor for success. Falk Denecke, Project Manager at BE-terna GmbH, places particular emphasis on the cooperation with the MORE & MORE project team, which “always took place as equal partners and in a friendly, cooperative atmosphere”. “Along the way, we have managed to keep to the ambitious timetable we set ourselves, despite the pandemic situation in 2020 and 2021. This was only possible thanks to targeted communication and structured processes in the implementation,” he continues.
