An all-in-one system for digital video surveillance from a single source

Dallmeier electronic first launched Dynamics AX in its business back in 2001. After changing AX versions and several partner switches, in 2010 Dallmeier decided to undertake a comprehensive software evaluation with a total of eight ERP solutions and 15 system providers, with BE-terna as an implementation partner.

Ultimately, the professional approach of the BE-terna consultants over the course of the 15-day business process analysis and BE-terna’s strong industry focus in the field of toolbuilding and high-tech were the deciding factors.

Dynamics AX instead of stand-alone solutions

Migrating to Dynamics AX helped Dallmeier to achieve an across-the-board increase in the efficiency, flexibility, and transparency of individual workflows. Stand-alone solutions were replaced for the most part by standard AX features. For instance, the quality management and production planning modules have been reimplemented and are now integrated directly in the ERP system.

This has generated considerable improvements for Dallmeier. For instance, inter-company orders have been simplified by means of a central stock list; production planning has been optimised extensively and a feature has been integrated to enable the full traceability of all components.

From Dynamics AX to Dynamics 365

In 2018 Dallmeier went a step further in its optimisation with the launch of Microsoft Dynamics 365. This new software environment hasn’t just improved the analysis and evaluation of the integrated BI solution, individual modules such as production planning, component management and inter-company can now be optimised too. By doing so, not only is BE-terna ensuring the perfect interaction of all processes, but with Dynamics 365 it’s also providing an ERP application capable of handling Dallmeier’s growing business requirements.

The fact that we were able to achieve 95% of our project objectives despite the short project timeframe of just six months is testament to the great collaboration within the project team.

Local Business Data instead of cloud

Company standards and internal regulations stipulated that Dallmeier run Dynamics 365 locally. That meant that all business data was to remain within the in-house computer centre and all business processes could be carried out internally. Local Business Data, the on-premise version of Dynamics 365, meets these requirements: This allows Dallmeier to use tried-and-tested in-house structures without having to forego the possibilities offered by future-proof cloud solutions.
