Indasia Gewürzwerk GmbH, one of the biggest producers of the MOGUNTIA Food Group, started live operation with Infor M3 on 1 September 2018. Following on from promising rollouts for financial accounting across 20 divisions of the Group, the first production facility has thus been successfully incorporated into the new ERP environment.

ERP standard solution for the entire value chain

For more than 65 years, Indasia in Georgsmarienhütte (Lower Saxony) has produced in excess of 11,000 tons of mixed spices, raw spices, spice marinades and technological additives annually. The old ERP environment had been starting to show its age, and was no longer capable of meeting the complex requirements of a whole value chain. Infor M3 CloudSuite Food & Beverage, which is specifically designed for the food industry, was chosen as the new ERP system.
The standard version of the software combines all business applications – including ERP, BI, DMS and PLM – in a single user-friendly interface. Third party web-based systems can also be integrated with relative ease. Working closely with Infor and project staff at the MOGUNTIA Food Group, BE-terna implemented the ERP solution in just 15 months without modifying or amending the fundamental business processes.

Graphical Lot Tracker

Graphical Lot Tracker, a tool integrated into Infor M3 which graphically depicts batches and where-used lists, facilitates full tracking for all constituents and materials across the value chain. Infor Factory Track enables all movements of goods to be monitored using mobile devices, from goods receipts to shipping.

Integrated planning, from sales to production

Graphic sales planning clearly depicts demand levels for specific articles and customers. Planning results not only facilitate more efficient purchasing; these figures also form the basis for production planning through the Scheduling Workbench advanced planning tool. Full integration of all planning steps into the ERP system allows Indasia to save time – and therefore money – at various points of intersection. By improving the utilisation of filling plants and minimising set-up times as well as delivery channels for ingredients, Infor M3 has optimised and speeded up the entire production process.

Automation and integration of key work steps

Thanks to the way in which Infor M3 automatically generates maintenance orders and takes idle times into account, maintenance work and production planning for systems is undertaken with greater speed and transparency. The costs of all machines are directly attributable through the integration of financial accounting.

Global networking of all MOGUNTIA factories

The successful start to live operation for Indasia’s spice plant in Germany represented a major milestone in a close and long-standing working relationship with the MOGUNTIA Food Group, BE-terna and Infor. More go-lives are planned for the years ahead.
